The York Water Company acquires York Haven Borough Wastewater System
JT Hand, President & CEO of The York Water Company (NASDAQ: YORW), announced today that York Water has acquired the wastewater collection and treatment assets of the York Haven Sewer Authority, York Haven Borough, York County. This acquisition adds approximately 230 sewer customers to The York Water Company’s expanding portfolio.
President Hand stated, “York Water is pleased to provide our reliable wastewater services to the residents of York Haven Borough. York Water is already the water provider for York Haven Borough and portions of Newberry Township, so adding wastewater services was a natural fit. This will create a number of efficiencies and improve overall system reliability. As an existing, trusted member of the York Haven Borough community, we look forward to further building upon this relationship.”
York Water’s expertise and consistent investment to ensure reliable and sustainable utility infrastructure will meet the wastewater needs of the York Haven community for years to come. This important acquisition allows York Haven municipal officials to focus on other community priorities, while the York Water team focuses on the collection and treatment of wastewater.
York Haven Sewer Authority Chairperson, Faye Kline stated, “The Authority continues to be pleased with the team at The York Water Company. We knew that the aging infrastructure of the Authority’s wastewater system required the involvement of an entity with considerable resources and experience. Having a qualified partner who has been serving our community for years made this important decision clear. And the leadership and representatives of The York Water Company worked diligently to make this a smooth transition.”
The York Water Company is honored to provide water and wastewater services to over 210,000 people in 58 communities and visitors in Adams, Franklin, York, and Lancaster counties.
